There is something magical about the mechanical click of a hand-cranked automata. This piece features a very studious little mouse, deeply engrossed in his “Big Book of Cheese.” As you turn the manual crank, he playfully peeks over the top of the pages, caught between his love of literature and his love of cheddar.

Sustainable Art: Created using timber salvaged from a Cornish carpenter’s workshop—giving new life to wood that was destined for the fire.

Hand-Painted: Every tiny detail, from the book’s title to the mouse’s ears, is finished by hand in our Pendeen studio.
